As GESCG’s Data Analyst, Dr. Akogun plays a critical role in applying statistical modeling and data interpretation to support emergency response planning, operational efficiency, and long-term urban resilience strategies. His technical proficiency with analytical tools such as SPSS enhances decision-making processes and contributes to the sustainability and scalability of public safety initiatives.

Dr. Akogun has held various roles including Transportation Manager, Transportation Analyst, Researcher, Data Analyst, and Town Planner. He has worked across on-site, hybrid, and remote environments with professional exposure throughout Canada—particularly Saskatchewan—and other parts of North America. His interdisciplinary background strengthens the link between planning, mobility, and data science in real-world emergency service contexts.
Leadership in Research & Global Projects
Dr. Akogun served as Co-Principal Investigator for the Mobility and Access in African Cities research grant, funded by the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF). He led a team of researchers from the University of Ibadan in the study, A Comparative Study of Police Harassment of Informal Public Transport Operators in Two African Cities. This internationally recognized work highlighted key mobility and governance challenges in African urban contexts.
